A Local's View of Bonita Golf and Country Club
Over the years, several of my friends have made their homes in the Bonita Golf and Country Club area. I remember when it was a quiet enclave with only a handful of homes. I have watched it fill in gradually through the years.
Bonita Springs was far more rural then. One afternoon at my parents' home, a small herd of cows wandered into the backyard from a neighboring field. They lowered their heads and studied us the way curious cattle do. My mother greeted them with a cheerful, high-pitched "Hi there!" The entire herd panicked and bolted. I still remember us laughing together. Green space and the occasional wayward cow: that was Bonita Springs not so long ago.
