A Local's View of West Bay Club
I have been in this business long enough to watch West Bay Club begin, from the early days of new construction to the resales of today.
One afternoon I was driving buyers from out of town back to show a high rise condo in Jasmine Bay. We were touring the community when a gopher tortoise planted itself in the street. We had a bit of a standoff. Then I told my buyers to look to the side of the road. Two or three more were munching on grass under the palmetto bushes, looking like little Sherman tanks. Gopher tortoises are a protected species, so we waited patiently for our friend to get over his turtle-tude. Once he went about his business, we headed back to the boat launch on the Estero River to finish our tour. Like Pelican Landing and Bonita Bay, West Bay Club is a spacious, nature-filled community, so you will see wildlife like those little Sherman tanks.
Another time I showed a couple from the Midwest every home for sale in West Bay Club. Nothing was quite their taste or the right floor plan. There was one home we could not get into. The listing agent had a cell phone mishap that day. Let's say it fell off of a boat. I was shocked that my calls kept going to voicemail without a return call. By the time we eventually connected, my buyers were already flying home. I went to preview the home for them. Of course, it was exactly what they were looking for. I took photos of the finishes and flooring, tracked down a floor plan, the whole nine yards. A few details about their situation made this home the right fit. We used that to our advantage in the negotiation. They were thrilled with the purchase and loved the neighborhood so much that they eventually upsized.
